Voice Alarm Systems

With the increasing complexity of Buildings and Evacuation procedures it is at times preferable to alert people of a Fire Alarm by using Spoken Messages via Speakers distributed throughout the building.

In some cases it is a mandatory requirement of the Licensing Authority that a Voice Alarm System is installed instead of conventional Fire Alarm Systems, particulary where large numbers of the public are present, such as Shopping Malls, Transport Terminals, Stadiums and Sports Centres.

Over many years the relevant British Standards for fire alarm systems have been changed or upgraded to meet the present regulations.

The new Regulatory (Fire Safety) order 2005 has brought considerable changes to the British Fire Industry, not least the over-riding requirement for fire alarm companies and personnel working within the industry to be competent, and also prove they are competent, to carry out the relevant designs and fire alarm maintenance to current British Standards.
