Periodic Electrical Inspection & Report - to BS7671
The IEE Wiring Regulations (BS 7671) require that Periodic Inspection and Testing of electrical installations is carried out at such intervals as are consistant with the type of installation, its use and operation, the frequency of maintenance, and the external influence upon it.
Examples of maximum recommended initial periods between inspections are as follows:
- Office Buildings - Every 5 years
- Retail Premises - Every 5 years
- Industrial - Every 3 years
- Swimming Baths - Every year
- Village Halls - Every 5 years
- Caravan Parks - Every year
- Domestic Dwellings - At change of occupancy, or every 10 years
Reports
On completion of the Inspection and Tests a report will be provided detailing the condition of the installation, results of all tests carried out, a list of any faults,recommendations and a conclusion as to the relative safety of the installation.
